Andrew Michael S. Ong
Admitted to the bar in 1994
Mr. Ong is a former partner.
He received a B.S. Architecture from the University
of San Carlos, Cebu and an L.L.B. from the University
of the Philippines, Diliman. He topped the Government
Licensure Examination for Architecture in 1986 and ranked
number 6th in the Philippine Bar Examinations in 1993.
He specializes in trademark and patent law, both registration
and enforcement, commercial contract negotiation, alternative
dispute resolution, and employment law. He is an accredited
patent agent of the Intellectual
Property Philippines, and a consultant of the Philippine
Judicial Academy of the Supreme Court of the Philippines
on mediation. He was formerly an associate lawyer of
the Salonga Law Office and a junior partner of the Paderanga
Law Office. He conducts trainings on various fields
of intellectual property law and alternative dispute
resolution to lawyers and other professionals as well
as businesspersons.
Aside from law practice, Mr. Ong has also occupied
managerial positions in large corporations. He was formerly
the Assistant-Vice President for Legal and Administration
for Apo Cement Corporation where he was part of the
management team of J.G. Summit Holdings, Inc. He was
also a former Vice-President for Human Resources, Legal
and Corporate Affairs of Golden ABC Inc. (the makers
of Penshoppe, Memo, Forme, and Oxygen), and Chief Executive
Officer of a non-stock, non-profit human resource training
and corporate foundation.
Mr. Ong also teaches in the College of Law of the
University of San Carlos.
